TOPIC: The role of women in the Church
Many think that the modern Evangelical Church is too
restrictive on women. One of the biggest problems is not
understanding the passages from the Bible, that appear to be against women's
equality, in context and within their culture. To see that more fully,
here's some
recommended reading (short articles and essay's from other Evangelicals):
1. Christianity Today article (written 8-7-2000). Click here to read. It's an excellent explanation as to the powerful impact that women have had in ministry, and how/why lately it has been largely suppressed. Excellent research and analysis.
2. John Ankerberg ministries article, click here. Talks about understanding the key "anti-women" passages in the New Testament, given their culture.
3. The Bible Answer Man Ministries article, click here. A nicely written and unbiased overview of both sides in the topic of "Role of Women in the Church." Written by a scholar, Roland Cap Ehlke is a professor at Concordia University Wisconsin.
